Let’s have a short conversation with one of our International Kindergarten teachers:
1. Please briefly introduce yourself | “My name is Teegan Page. I have experience teaching a wide range of students from 2 years old up to 18 years old. I previously lived and worked in Thailand, where I was a secondary school English teacher. I then moved to Vietnam, where I’ve lived for 3 years now.” |
2. What was it about Vietnam that drew you here? | “The people, and of course, the food. Specifically, in Northern Vietnam, Vietnamese people are extremely friendly and helpful. You cannot drive down a street in Hanoi without seeing a friendly Vietnamese face smiling back at you. I will also never say no to a classic bun cha. The food is full of flavor and I love it.” |
3. What skills do pre-kindergarten students need to develop to be successful as they move up to elementary school? | “Support, experiences, and creativity. Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfill their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age six have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe, and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation that children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.” |
4. What makes your classroom unique? | “I am the kind of person who continuously looks for creative ways to deliver and adapt teaching materials to keep students engaged and eager to learn more. I have an enjoyable and enthusiastic teaching style, which has helped increase my previous classes’ learning outcomes” |
